This brass ruler is part of the TRAVELER’S COMPANY Brass Products collection.

Made from solid brass, the ruler is stamped from a brass plate, shaped, and finished with laser-engraved markings for clear measurement. Simple in form yet precise in function, it reflects the careful craftsmanship of Japanese manufacturing.

One edge is folded up slightly to create a small lip, making the ruler easier to pick up. The raised edge keeps the ruler slightly off the page. When using this side to draw with an ink pen, it helps prevent ink from touching the ruler or smudging freshly written lines.

At first the brass has a bright golden sheen. With use, it gradually develops a deeper tone and the character of a vintage tool.
