Kaeru (frog) is a traditional Japanese good luck motif, as its name sounds the same as the Japanese word for "to return," symbolizing the return of safe journeys, good fortune, or wealth. The character "福" on its bib means "good fortune," adding to its auspicious meaning.

This postcard series is inspired by Engimono, traditional Japanese lucky motifs, and features original designs by Japanese eraser block print artist Umeya / Mori Kanae. 

Printed using the distinctive Retro Printing process on textured paper, each postcard has its own slight variations, with subtle misregistration and ink skips that add to its character. These details give each postcard a warm handmade feel and nostalgic charm.
